Come&Try Homemade Kitchen is an uyghur cuisine restaurant in Erie, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 3704 E Lake Rd, Erie, PA 16511, which places it among the local businesses of Erie that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
This group holds listings that did not fit cleanly into a food or drink category, mostly businesses that were pulled in alongside a restaurant in the same shopping plaza or that combine several kinds of service, such as a market with an attached clinic or a strip-mall unit that also does phone repair or tax preparation. The details here come from the public listing rather than a curated food write-up, so treat the category label loosely and check the business's own hours and services before visiting. Some of these are legitimate neighbors of the food businesses on this site, such as a nail salon or a laundromat in the same strip mall, while others are simply miscategorized on the source data and worth a quick call to confirm what they actually offer.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 8 AM–8 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Come&Try Homemade Kitchen at (814) 520-5446; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, comeandtry.cloveronline.com.
Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 on Google across 322 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded uyghur cuisine restaurant in Erie.
Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Erie follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

You owe it to yourself to visit Come & Try Homemade Kitchen in Lawrence Park, located on East Lake Road, just east of the confluence with Four Mile Creek Rd., Iroquois Ave. and Water St. Our server Russ explained that the cuisine is Central Asian, and they serve their family recipes from Kyrgyzstan (Kur-guess-tan), between China and Russia. We couldn’t decide, so we started with a Samsa and a Manti sampler. Samsa is a flaky puff pastry filled with beef, lamb and spices. Two Manti were steamed with beef, and beef with diced pumpkin, and a third was fried with beef. The Samsa and fried Manti were my favorites. I also enjoyed the Plov, which was tender cubed beef over a rice and fresh carrot blend, topped with pomegranate! It was served with a tasty Shakarap salad of sliced fresh tomato, onion and spices. Finally, I also ordered Shashlik - one lamb & one chicken - which is skewers of grilled marinated meat. They were both very tender and delicious. Russ gave us recommendations on how to taste everything along with optional sour cream, their homemade salsa and a house vinegar infused with garlic and spices. They serve soft drinks, house made iced tea (black or green) and cof

From the moment we walked in we were welcome with such a warm atmosphere. The menu was easy to understand and if we had any questions Russ was very knowledgeable and kind to help explain. I HIGHLY recommend trying the the Chuchvara aka Chuch (chooch). Everything is fantastic and they give a complimentary basket of fried bread and sour cream (add salt to sc). For 3 people we ordered A LOT, since it was our birthday. Pictured is Chuchvara, Shashlik Lamb with potatoes, Samsa, Shashlik Chicken with Plov, Beef Dumplings, Kyrgyzstan vinegar, and Beef Stroganoff. One of the best meals I've ever had.

Enjoyed a nice evening meal. It’s not scary people, come try and eat! They had a homemade vinegar which is amazing. Sharing the dishes we enjoyed. Server was very attentive. The inner decor hasn’t changed much. The fresh fried bread appetizers!! Delicious.

You can tell pretty quickly when a place isn’t trying to “adapt” the cuisine for the crowd—and Come & Try is exactly that kind of spot. This is real Central Asian food, the kind that tastes like someone’s mom is in the kitchen, not a corporate recipe book. The manty are the highlight—juicy, perfectly steamed, with that soft dough and rich filling that instantly takes you back if you’ve ever had them in Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan. No shortcuts here. The plov is done right too—separate grains, deep flavor, tender chunks of meat, and that unmistakable aroma of proper spices. Not greasy, not dry—just balanced the way it should be. Chuchvara hit that comfort-food level—simple, clean, and exactly what you want when you’re craving something homemade. And the shashlik—smoky, tender, and actually marinated properly, not just grilled meat pretending to be shashlik. What really stands out is that nothing feels “restaurant-polished” in a bad way—it feels home-cooked, in the best sense. Honest food, no pretending. On top of that, Rus makes the whole experience better. Attentive without hovering, genuinely welcoming, and clearly cares that you’re enjoying the food—not just turning tables. If you’r

Central Asian fare. Think Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan. Go ahead look them up I'll wait. Who knew Erie had such diversity. If you want the samsa you better call ahead. They were already gone by the time we got there. I had plov, the rice and beef dish with shakarap which is thinly sliced and lightly dressed tomatoes and onions. My son had the chuchvara dumpling soup with beef and rice stuffed crepes and a side of sour cream. Our server was super friendly and very informative. ALL the food was delicious. Next time I'm calling ahead for samsa. Oh and they serve breakfast too.
